The Philippine Consulate warns the public not to be victimized by illegal recruiters who promise jobs in Macau. Recruiters victimize Filipinos in the Philippines or those already working in Macau.
At this point, because of the new labor law, tourists cannot work in Macau. If there are any job offers as tourists from "recruiters" in Macau, please verify with the Consulate.
If certain persons or groups promise recovery of money from recruiters for a commission, also verify with the Consulate. If you are victimized, consult the Consulate immediately but don't overstay. The fine for overstaying is 200 patacas per day.
The Filipino community in Macau must be guided accordingly.
